Summer Camp

Packing for Summer camp requires a few different consideration than any other outing. Of course we are talking about many more days. The Troop traditionally leaves early on a Saturday morning and returns 9 days later on a Sunday afternoon. We try to stay overnight on the way to and from camp at Military bases. All of your stuff for the week should be packed in a soft bag that can be easily stored in vans or in a trailer for the trip. No backpacks should be brought to camp unless you are participating in a backpacking experience. An overnight bag should be packed containing any changes of clothing, all necessary toiletries, and sleeping bag for use on the overnight stays to and from camp. This eliminates the need to unpack large amounts of gear when we make overnight stops. Eat a good breakfast before departing and pack a bag lunch for Saturday, we do not stop for meals en route to camp.
